tanzanite gemstone ringTanzanite... It's blue and purple hues are associated with generosity  and friendship. This is today's gemstone. Start the tradition.

Tanzanite is my name, a newcomer in the gemstone society. The years have slowly gone by, waiting patiently for a admirer to unearth my hidden charms. In 1968 the dream came true when I the purplish-blue stone was swept off my feet, declared "Tanzanite" and introduced to the world I had longed to meet. Since that day my family and I have traveled the globe with mysterious allure attracting many suitors. Want to know me better, you must look deeply into my breathtaking blue eyes, for only careful contemplation will reveal the true depth of my most secret soul in shades of violet, red, purple and blue.

The Gem... Tanzanite is one of the newest and most vividly colored gemstones. While many gems are found the world over, Tanzanite is mined in one location only... Tanzania, Africa. Most gemstones need enhancement through cutting or treatment to be enjoyed in a piece of jewelry. Tanzanite is heated to permanently arouse it's purplish-blue to bluish-purple color.

Wear-ability... protect Tanzanite from repeated knocks, scratches or rapid temperature changes. You may wear your Tanzanite every day, but remove it before participating in active sports, gardening or housework. Avoid home ultrasonic cleaners.
