Panerai Pam 233 LUMINOR 1950

Recognizing a Classic: The Panerai PAM0233, An Icon Among Modern Panerai Watches

If you are looking for any brand new Panerai Watches or other brands please shoot me an email or give me a call at 1-800-551-1554 and I will be happy to order for you at a great price. It is important to understand the difference between gray market watches (watches that can be like new and advertised as new but will not come with official Panerai warranty and protective plastics) . Any watch I sell will be the same exact thing as what you would get if you walked into the Panerai store yourself.
If you are new to the Panerai game it can be a little rough trying to get an understanding of all the different models.  A lot of them look fairly similar to each other. There are a few that are the most produced and popular , today I am going to discuss the Pam 233 GMT one of my favorites.
Panerai PAM0233
The Panerai you see above is the PAM0233, or the Luminor 1950 8 Days GMT.  The 233 has everything to like from Panerai - Most importantly a pam in house movement, a brushed 1950 case with crown protector, sandwich dial, awesome domed crystal.  Inside the PAM233 is a Panerai Calibre P.2002/1, which has hours, minutes, and seconds, shows a GMT-indication (on a 12 hour scale instead of 24 which is better), a day/night indicator which is one of my favorite aspects, and a massive 8 day power reserve which you can see as its going down.
Dial:
Suited with a pretty domed crystal, love the look the dome gives however It will distort the view of the dial a little but not enough for any concern.  The domed crystal also gives off quite a bit of reflection. Domed crystals are thicker than non domes crystals. The sandwich dial gives it a nice touch than most Panerai lovers find to be a must have.

Complication/Dial
The functions of the 233 are very special, It has normal second, minutes and hours function, date, a GMT hand, and a second gmt hand. There is two different versions the older version as shown in the pictures did not have a dot which would turn from white to black between day and night. The newer version that is currently available has this which I tend to prefer. The date can be set both forwards AND backward so if you need to go back one day, simply wind the crown anti clockwise. To wind the full 8 days does take a bit of time , they actually have an aftermarket product you can purchase to make it wind faster which is nice.

The watch is also rated to 100m - which is less than the 300m for my Zero. For me thats not so important.
